Next month I'll be giving blood for the first time. This is (mainly) because my niece was given a blood transfusion last year and it saved her life.
I'm releasing an EP of old 4-track tape recordings to remind myself to not be so selfish with something that other people need more than me.
These 'songs' are experiments from '08 when I found myself living in my studio, so don't get too excited.
The EP will be a limited edition of 25 CD-r's, and each CD will come with an original blood drawing.
The EP that I recorded back in 2011 is now on Soundcloud in all it's crappy 4-track off-key glory.
Enjoy, dislike or ignore at your leisure.
Sculptor and former Threadneedle Prize winner Tim Shaw has selected my video piece 'Tom' to be exhibited at this years Threadneedle Prize For Painting & Sculpture. Tim cites this piece as one of his favourite artworks, and I thank him for selecting it.
Also, congratulations to Millennium Gallery artist Lisa Wright, who has won the 2013 Threadneedle Prize with her piece 'Gulty's Gaze on the Innocent'.
Lisa shares the £30000 with Clare McCormack (it is the first time that the prize has been awarded to two winners).
The Threadneedle Prize is the UK's leading prize for contemporary figurative and representational painting and sculpture.
Exhibition is open to the public from 25th September - 12th October, 10am - 5pm.
Private view is this evening (25th), maybe see you there if you are going.
