Back in London

November 19, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I'm finally back in London after a trip to the Cornwall Film Festival, Newquay. The festival was a huge success. Well done to the director Tiffany and everyone else involved, it was a brilliant event.

The festival screened my Sentridoh 'Weed Forestin' video piece plus The Call of Duty EP video (side A). Both were screened in the music video section. It was great to see these videos up on the silver screen and the category seemed to be very well attended. Thanks to those who came.

Also my Dementia Uncovered piece Skin was included in a special screening of all the video pieces made for this project. This was followed by a Q&A session with film-makers Brett Harvey, Paul Farmer & Ian Bucknole and myself. This session raised some interesting questions and ideas and I wish we had had more time to dig a little deeper. Thanks to those who attended and took part in the discussion. The feedback for this project has been great and the film will now tour around the country.

If you'd like to watch the films made for this project as a showreel please click here

On the way back to London I stopped off in Bristol to catch the Flawedcore Records band Countryside play live at the Stag & Hounds. Thanks to everyone that came out to see the band, and thanks to those that bought the record!

If you'd like to buy their debut record on CD you can grab it right here: here

*Note - Flawedcore Records is a small label I set up in 2011.

Skin (Dementia Uncovered project)

October 18, 2012

Hello,

The video piece I was commissioned to make for the Sensory Trust is now online.

It's called SKIN, and you can view it here: Click

Be sure to change the video setting to 720pHD, and watch it full screen, if possible.

Skin is a poem by Joan Saunders (in conversation with the poet Karen Hayes). Joan Saunders has dementia and resides in a care home in St Austell, Cornwall. This video is a response to her poem.

If you'd like to watch the other films made for this project as a showreel please click here: Show-reel

These films have already been shared with a whole host of community and professional networks and are getting a great reception.

The films will also be touring as part of an exhibition around St Austell, visiting Eden Project, St Austell Library, Eden café at St Austell and Heligan Gardens. They will also be shown in a few months at the UK Dementia Congress (a national conference held in Brighton), an 'End Loneliness' event in Cornwall, and memory cafes across Cornwall (these are sessions in the community for those with dementia living at home).

Finally, the Dementia Uncovered films will be screening at Cornwall Film Festival on Sat 10th Nov, 4.20pm. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session, chaired by Rose of FEAST (who funded this project) and Sensory Trust’s Wendy Brewin. I'll be on the panel alongside film-maker Brett Harvey.

I hope to see you in Newquay, Cornwall on the 10th November. The Cornwall Film Festival 2012 is well recommended, please check the line-up if you are interested: Cornwall Film Festival 2012 website

Weed Forestin'

February 28, 2012

Lou Barlow's Sentridoh, WEED FORESTIN' has now been re-issued.

The deluxe LP features my short film which includes a stop frame animation and VHS footage of Lou from 87' edited by me. All content has been made between 2002 and 2012.

I've waited nearly ten years for this to happen, and i'm very proud to be a small part of it.

Every piece of art i've ever made exists because of this record.
