Apeman

May, 2008

During the first two weeks of the exhibition Two Crosses held at Goldfish Contemporary Arts a performance was held involving the artist dressed as an apeman.

This performance was streamed live on the Internet from 15th - 29th May, 2008.

The apeman was caged for two weeks and made paintings and drawings on paper, however the apeman was free to relax, sleep or read whenever he pleased.

Gallery visitors were able to fill out simple forms and post them through a slot - the apeman used this information as a foundation to make art work.

Art was exchanged for food, drink, warmth, shelter and money. If money was exchanged for art the gallery took 50%.
